There's a single tell that separates camera presence from camera performance: the face.
The face dances when truth couples to action — when you actually mean the thing in the instant you say it. The face moves on its own, and everyone watching feels it land. You cannot fake this, and you don't need to.
Stop producing expressions
A blocked face is a face managing how it looks. A dancing face is a face that forgot it was being watched because it got busy meaning something. The work isn't to add expressions. It's to stop blocking the ones already trying to happen.
That's the whole method in miniature: couple the truth to the action, and the instrument does the rest.
Take it further
Watch one of your recent videos with the sound off, and watch only your face. Is it responding to your meaning, or managing how it looks? That noticing is where the work starts.
